Sinossi:
Eusebius, known also as Eusebius Pamphili or Pamphilus, was born AD 260/265, died AD 339/340. He became bishop of Caesarea, in Palaestina, in AD 314.
I first read his Ecclesiastical History in 1991 and I fell in love with it.
With all due respect due to modern Church history scholars, no other book is so essential for those who are interested in the birth of Christianity, the formation of the Canon of the New Testament and the early Church organization.
The first book is an apology of Christianity and its doctrines, even in respect to the Old Testament, which bears witness to Christ’s incarnation.
From the second book on to the tenth, Eusebius will cover, in chronological order, the history of the first three centuries of the Church.
